How to make use of Google Ads Performance Planner forecasting tool?

Here is a demonstration of how to use the Performance Planner tool in your Google Ads account to maximize your conversions.

  • Sign in to your Google Ads Account
  • Click on the Tools and Settings icon that you see on the top right corner of your Google Ads account page.
  • Then select Performance Planner under the subheading Planning.
  • Once you click, Performance Planner, a pop-up window appears and it gives you the option to Create Plan,
  • In “Create a Plan”, you need to choose a date range.
  • Under the Channel, select any campaign, for instance Search and Performance Max.
  • Under the Key Metric, select any option, for instance Conversion.
  • Select the Target, you can choose between No Target, Conversions, Spend and Average Cost per Acquisition (CPA). If you haven’t selected the plan, I will show you how to set a target after creating a plan.
  • Select the campaigns that you want to create a plan.
  • Once you select the campaign, select the Create button.
How to create a plan in Google Ads Performance Planner

Now, a Draft Plan window appears, and you can see the key metrics of your ad performance. A Gray Dot indicates that you did not make any changes to your campaign, bids and budgets.

In the first section, we can see how to improve your conversion rate with an unlimited budget. For example, in order to achieve 13K conversion, input 131,000 in the conversion box. Once it set down, the planner will automatically show you how much budget you need to achieve your goal.
