Keeping that in mind, Google has introduced new products that will help the travel advertisers in achieving their customers back. These products include vacation rentals in Hotel results, hotel booking extension in Text Ads and enhancements to commissions (per stay) bidding.

People have shown more interest in local destinations and vacation rentals over the time period.

Vacation rentals allow travellers to book accommodations beyond the typical listing offered on Google.

"This gives travellers the ability to stay in various types of properties - be it a cabin in Lake Tahoe or a beach house in Sydney - by applying the Vacation Rentals filter, visiting the Vacation Rentals tab, or searching for vacation rentals directly on Search." - Google

Google allows the users to choose from a list of vacation rentals from the Hotel result page in the given destinations.

Google introduced the hotel booking extension which will be automatically placed in Google Hotel Ads within Search text Ads.

This will collect the landing page, hotel details, pricing, room's availability and add them to the existing feeds in your Google Ads search campaign.

Google has also informed that they will show the list of hotels and travel destinations according to availability. Once all the destinations are open for travel, the advertisers will be able to experience more out of Hotel booking extension.

Better performance with enhanced commissions (per stay)

As the pandemic keeps fluctuating it is indeed difficult to know the patterns of travel booking. So earlier last year, Google introduced the commissions that will help advertisers even if the user cancels the booking.

Google has updated the commission (per stay) to make it easy for advertisers. They include,

Google is bringing in pre-booking reports in Google Ads where the advertisers can review the booking and whether they have been used or cancelled. This will also help you in finding the post-cancellations performances.

Google has also informed that they will be introducing bid adjustments for commission campaigns. This will allow the users to adjust the bids according to different scenarios like check-in for a day or for a week or even for a stay date to make an account for your room inventory.

Google will be enabling credit card billing and additional currency supports so that it is easy for businesses to pay for the stay.
